I am dead-set on using sand dollar "escort cards" at my wedding reception. Even if the wedding will be small enough to deem them unnecessary! I fell in love with them over a year ago, when I first started looking through wedding magazines, visiting wedding blogs and becoming obsessed with all things wedding-related.
If you're budget is flexible, the amazing Laura Hooper will handwrite the names of your guests and table numbers on sand dollars for $3.50 each.
Shore Chic is a great online source for anyone looking for decor for a beach wedding. They sell sand dollars and starfish, which they will handwrite your guests' names and table numbers on, as well as the "sand box" to display them in, in a variety of sizes and colors. I love the blue one used here:
I'm going with sand dollars because they have personal meaning to Dale and I, but the starfish are just as cute, and they even look like they could be a relatively simple DIY project. Rather than having to write directly on the sand dollar, you can just attach a small tag onto the starfish with ribbon. I actually came across some nice fake starfish at Michael's the other day. And of course, I can't leave out Etsy! These personalized starfish pieces are from John Q. Designs.
