Date Night-In Engagement Shoot Thursday, December 1, 2011 ~ 8:54 a.m.

As soon as I saw this engagement shoot by Nina O'Connell of 5o9 Photography, I knew that I would love this couple! Ryan and Jessica wanted their engagement shoot to reflect who they are and what they love doing most together. For their engagement shoot, instead of choosing to go to a carnival for cotton candy, or an open field for a picnic, they chose to stay in and make a pizza, pop open a bottle of champagne and spend time with their dogs (and cats) at home.

They first got engaged at home, too! Ryan and Jessica moved to Texas together several years ago, where they live with their two dogs and cats. Ryan and Jessica were all set to go out on a date to celebrate their four year anniversary, and when they were all ready to go, Ryan asked Jessica to close her eyes for her surprise, and then he proposed! They'll be heading back to Madison, Wisconsin, where they first met and began dating, to get married on June 30, 2012 at Forklore Village.

Great idea. The complete opposite of uncomfortably posed and a perfect example of how eshoots can be fun and special too!

I loved the simplicity and comfort of this engagement shoot. It was also so original.

Love the simplicity of this. No crazy props or staged scenes. Just the couple.
