I feel like I've been featuring a lot of vintage style weddings lately, so I'm happy to be featuring something a little more modern here today, kindly submitted by Southern California's own Troy Grover Photographers. Not that there's anything wrong with a vintage wedding...I just love the variety :)
Jessica and Joe's wedding has a nice California contemporary feel to it - meaning that it's modern, but with a laid back style that you'll often find here in my sunny home state. The couple's chosen yellow and gray color palette shines beautifully throughout the ceremony and reception venues, with gorgeous contemporary arrangements by Art with Nature Design using yellow roses and mums, mixed with white hydrangea, silver dusty miller and purple thistle. A few of the bridesmaids and the bride herself also wore yellow flowers in their hair (isn't that from a song?). You'll notice that the entire wedding party wore gray - the bridesmaids in really light gray dresses from David's Bridal, and the groomsmen in gray suits with yellow ties from Friar Tux.
All of the gorgeous outdoor ceremony was beautifully decorated in yellow, yet the green hillsides in the backdrop definitely steal the show in the photos! Based on what I hear from photographers Aimee and Troy Grover, the groom's choice to don a fake mustache for some of his photos with his buddies is a fun and rather suitable addition..."Joe is probably one of THE most hilarious people we've ever met!"
