If you've ever been to San Francisco City Hall before, you know that it is absolutely extraordinary. Besides the fact that it has a very special place in my heart for personal reasons, the building's classic architecture, grand staircases and wide open spaces really makes it unlike any other venue. It's hard to believe that it's city hall, at all! Needless to say, when I received these beautiful wedding photographs by Philadelphia-based studio, Lindsay Docherty Photography, I knew that I wanted to share them!
Bride and groom, Jessica and Cassidy were married in the Fall at the Rotunda in San Francisco City Hall. The spectacular venue was completely transformed by the talented event planner, Maxine Andrew of Instead of You and floral designer Kathleen Deery Design, with wedding decor inspired by Jessica's dream of an "enchanted fairytale," with tall, far-reaching trees, sparkling crystals, lush pink floral arrangements and tons of romantic candlelight.
Sticking with a rich fuchsia and gold color palette, the arched entryway into the Rotunda was accented with gold silk drapes. Arriving guests were each given a wedding program and a silk bag filled with pieces of Chinese jade, a nod to the bride's heritage, before being seated for the ceremony. Chiavari chairs lined the gold and fuchsia aisle runner on the landing of the Grand Staircase, which was defined by ten foot trees covered in moss, pink and red blossoms and swaged with extravagant crystal garlands. The bride wore a Reem Acra wedding gown and crystal-accented veil fit for a princess, and was escorted by her father down the main staircase as a soprano sang, "Ave Maria."
After the ceremony, Jessica and Cassidy invited guests to the venue's Mezzanine for cocktails and passed hors d'oeuvres. The grand Rotunda was dramatically lit and decorated with fuchsia linens, antique gold candled centerpieces and pink roses, mosses and a sprinkling of oversized crystals. After dinner, guests followed the bride and groom into the adjacent North Light Court, which was completely transformed into the "Pink Crystal Ballroom," with sexy pink lighting, tall crystal columns, drapes and crystal chandeliers. The newly married couple and their guests enjoyed enticing cocktails and a full menu of desserts in the chic lounge area, before hitting the dance floor for the remainder of the evening. Of course, the extravagant wedding celebration had a touching fairy tale ending, with a special performance by Jessica's dad, who sang a song dedicated to the couple while being showered in silk flower petals falling from the ceiling.
