BRIDES and Checkerboard Launch BRIDES Fine Wedding Papers Thursday, March 24, 2011 ~ 11:07 a.m.

BRIDES magazine has partnered with fine stationery manufacturer, Checkerboard to launch a new line of personalized wedding invitations and accessories today called, Brides Fine Wedding Papers. The line is available for viewing online at, and through 3,000 independent stationers nationwide.

The new wedding paper collection was created by Checkerboard designers to reflect the style of BRIDES magazine, while offering what BRIDES editor in chief Millie Martini Bratten calls, "...a balance of formal and fun, unexpected and traditional." The small collection of wedding invitation suites is divided by "Destination," "Floral," "Modern," "Seasonal" and "Traditional" styles, and includes some matching Save the Dates, Thank You cards, Menus and Gift Tags.

Once you're ready to purchase, the stationery website will help you find a retailer in your area, or direct you to one of their online retailers, or Pricing for 100 wedding invitations typically falls between $400 and $650.

Having spent some time on the newly launched website, the BRIDES collection appears to be a slightly more updated version of what one would expect to see from Checkerboard. There are definitely some cute options available, like the "Newport," "Cameo" and "Nouveau" designs; however, there are some that seem a little outdated and, in my opinion, wouldn't fit in with the wedding stationery typically featured in BRIDES magazine.

Here are some of my favorite pieces from the newly launched Brides Fine Wedding Paper collection
