Winter Wedding Decorated in Feathers and Crystals Monday, March 7, 2011 ~ 11:24 a.m.

What struck me most about this enchanting winter wedding submitted by Photographer Carrie McCluskey were all of the incredible flowers! Tessilk Flowers in San Diego provided oodles and oodles of orchids, with an exuberant mix of gardenias, roses, plumeria, hydrangeas and peonies in clean white and different shades of purple arranged generously into full bouquets and lush floral arrangements. Like the bride's white feathered heels, each of the bouquets and boutonnieres were decorated with crystals and white feathers for extra sparkle and texture. If you're going for an totally glam, extra luxurious wedding of your own, this real wedding coordinated by Swann Soirees is a perfect example of how to do it just right without going totally overboard.

Bride and groom, Janice and Mike married on a chilly winter afternoon in a classic church wedding ceremony at the Founders Chapel at the University of San Diego. The bridesmaids wore strapless dresses in charcoal-grey, along with two adorable flower girls dressed in sweet little white dresses with a purple sash. Each of the ladies in the wedding party held one of those amazing purple bouquets, each framed in white feathers to match the bride's.

The wedding reception was held in a grand ballroom at the Hyatt Regency La Jolla at Aventine hotel venue, decorated with tall, modern floral centerpieces topped with white hydrangeas literally dripping with large tear-shaped crystals. Charcoal-grey linens were draped over the round tables, with a large diamond-shaped crystal placed at the top of each place setting with the guest's name. A printed menu was tucked inside each of the folded white dinner napkins, along with what else? A white feather! The couple's tall white wedding cake was a perfect ending to the dazzling evening, also decorated with white and purple flowers and rhinestones separating each of the four tiers.
