Funny story. Today's bride and groom, Kirstin and Chris, actually met through The Onion's personal ads. Maybe it's just me, but did you even know that The Onion had personal ads???
What originally began as a funny way to pass their downtime at work eventually led to what I think is the perfect wedding to leave you with for the Easter holiday weekend. Beautiful photos by Amie Otto Photography, along with lots of bright colors, spring flowers and of course, cupcakes!
Kirstin and Chris married in the garden at the classic, All American Dumbarton House in the Georgetown area of Washington, DC. The bride chose a cheerful green and white color palette with bright pops of orange and purple, which was translated into a fresh mix of spring flowers including coral roses and green hydrangeas, arranged by Nevien Tadross at Fifi Flower. Each guest received a small packet of wildflower seeds as a wedding favor, inspired by the Dumbarton House garden, where Kirstin and Chris exchanged vows on a windy spring afternoon. The intimate wedding ceremony was followed by cocktails on the terrace and an afternoon reception decorated with green and white paper lanterns, white linens and colorful floral centerpieces. As the day turned to evening, guests enjoyed traditional music and dancing reflecting Kirstin's Polish heritage and cupcakes from one of the couple's favorite date spots, Georgetown Cupcake.
