Rustic Wedding at a Charming Family Farm Tuesday, April 5, 2011 ~ 8:45 a.m.

Having met through their mutual friend (and Maid of Honor), Sara, at her family's farm on Vancouver Island six years ago, Erika and Malcolm knew where they'd marry all along. The self-proclaimed "Urban Cowboys" married at the beautiful Bird's Eye Cove Farm in Malcolm's hometown in British Columbia; Erika also spent her summers at the farm growing up. Photographer Jamie Delaine took great advantage of the farm's expansive 300 seemed as if the couple was in a world all of their own, nestled within a peaceful cove beside the ocean, along with sprawling fields of green, dusty roads, a chicken coup and, of course, a huge wooden barn.

Erika and Malcolm's wedding was simply bursting with rustic charm, fresh wildflowers and tons of blueberries. Both Erika and Malcolm felt completely at home on the farm, and they wanted to make sure that each and every one of their guests felt that same warm welcome. Bundles of fresh lavender lured guests to their seats to watch the couple marry outside beneath the trees on a warm August afternoon. Each of the bridesmaids wore a blue knee length dress and held a full bouquet in a bold pink, while the bride carried a classic arrangement of white wildflowers and greenery that perfectly matched the rustic farm setting.

Guests moved into the family barn after the wedding ceremony, which was decorated with large white lanterns, and made all the more "homey" with tons of old family photos hung along the walls with wooden clothes pins. The charming table centerpieces consisted of glass mason jars filled with colorful sprays of fresh wildflowers, surrounded by small pine cones and rustic wooden table numbers. Guests were greeted with overflowing cartons of fresh blueberries as wedding favors, and celebrated into the evening over bottles of wine adorned with custom labels made specially for the day.

Thank you so much for that beautiful write-up about our wedding! So sweet : ) Note, the farm is nestled in a peaceful cove oceanside instead of lakeside. Unbelievable isnt it?? thanks again!!
