DON'T MISS OUT! The giveaway ends tonight at midnight (PST).
I don't know about you, but I can definitely get a bit shy in front of the camera. Some people tend to light up when the lens is on them, others (like myself), need a little bit of nudging at first before we can really open up. For that reason, I know first hand how very important it is to work with a photographer that is not only talented, but also warm and friendly. I know that my favorite photos of myself on my wedding day definitely aren't the ones where I'm just posing. You want to work with a photographer who can really draw out those authentic moments of laughter, love and happiness between you and your partner. Essentially, you want to feel like the person working behind the lens is a friend. Beatrice of RomaBea Images is definitely that friend to all of the couples she has worked with over the years. Incredibly sweet, very supportive and friendly (as I've experienced first hand!)...not to mention she takes some great photos! ;)
I'm very excited for my first official Vendor on Paper feature starring the sweetest and oh-so-talented wedding photographer, Bea of RomaBea Images. Bea and I first connected through cyberspace a couple of months ago when she submitted some beautiful engagement photos from a shoot she did in downtown Pasadena last Spring. You can view the feature I'm referring to on the blog right here. Definitely worth checking out, if you haven't already! We quickly became online buddies through Facebook and Twitter, and I'm a frequent visitor of her newly redesigned photography blog, too, which is definitely worth adding to your regular blog roll, if you haven't already!
Anyway, enough of the lovefest. RomaBea Images is based in Chino Hills, California, and you can find all of her contact info in our new wedding vendors guide, Vendors on Paper.
Bea was kind enough to take some time to answer a few questions to help us get to know her a little better. Read on to learn about her favorite hobby, what advice she has for brides and how her family originally inspired her career in photography!
Describe the epitomized RomaBea Images bride.
The RomaBea Images bride has a wedding style that's tasteful and sophisticated, yet relaxed and timeless. Whether it's a DIY vintage theme affair, or an all-out extravaganza coordinated with her planner, her wedding will be a huge hit! She's friendly and flirty, with a terrific sense of humor, loves to have fun and she isn't afraid to try new things mixed with some old tried-and-true ones. Fashion is important to her, but she doesn't take it too seriously!
What advice do you have for the newly engaged bride planning her wedding?
Stay true to your own style! Look to wedding blogs for inspiration and DIY ideas that you can incorporate into your own wedding.
Let people help you! It's easy to get overwhelmed with all the details involved in wedding planning. You can assign little tasks that you don't mind letting go of, and concentrate on the bigger decisions.
Easier said than done, I know, but try to slow down, have fun and most importantly, enjoy every moment of it!
Describe one of your favorite projects and why it was such a memorable one for you.
One of my favorite projects is actually an ongoing one, I'm afraid! Actually, I'd be perfectly happy if it was ongoing, but my bank account and garage may not be! I adore collecting props for my photo shoots from local flea markets and while traveling. I love adding another visual layer of interest to my photos by incorporating props, so I'm always looking to add to my collection. And if it's vintage...I just swoon!
How did your career in photography originally come about?
As cliche as this sounds, photography is no stranger to me thanks to my grandfather and uncle, who were both enamored with it! I was surrounded by cameras growing up, and had one in hand ever since I can remember!
My career in photography began professionally a couple of years ago when I was asked to shoot a bridal event, and it's been gaining momentum ever since!
When you're not working, you are usually...
Spending time with my family and friends is a given! Life is so precious and not to be taken for granted. I love to read, constantly! I'm insanely fascinated with fashion magazines and old Hollywood photos, and draw inspiration from them all the time. I'm very silly, love making people laugh and am always looking for opportunities to do just that! Laughter really is a wonderful remedy; it's good for the soul! xoxo
