I'm going to be honest...I sometimes run out of ways to say "pretty" in this line of work. Which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but I get stuck at times because I really try to come up with something meaningful for each blog title. The thesaurus really is my best friend! Anyway, I bring this up because I must have renamed this blog post at least five times before finally coming up with one that I was happy with!
Now, let me just say that these images are absolutely AMAZING. Captivating. AKA - My "perfect" word to describe the photos taken by Anastasia Chomlack of Anastasia Photography. For me, I think it's the combination of slightly dreary weather, along with the creative lighting and the movement captured in all of the photos that makes the wedding seem like it's taking place in another world, where no one else is watching. The gorgeous outdoor wedding ceremony was set right beside the ocean in Squamish, British Columbia, where approximately 180 guests gathered on a foggy, yet surprisingly picturesque day to watch Ashley and Christopher marry. The bride and her bridesmaids each held uniform bouquets of baby's breath, while each of the beautiful flower girl's also donned daisy garlands in their hair. So dreamy!
Take a look at the photos below, and you'll notice upon first glance that the wedding is very elegant. But what I also love about it, is if you look closer, you'll find that it's also just a little rough around the edges. In a good way :) There are a few little sweet, rustic touches that make the wedding more personal and memorable for the couple. The bride, Ashley, wore an amazing white lace gown with an elegant black sash, her grandmother's pearls and her favorite pair of worn in work boots by John Fluevog. The groomsmen each wore a suit and tie, and the little ones in the wedding party were free to wear black and white plaid shirts, fedora hats and sneakers.
One of Ashley's favorite DIY details at her wedding were the whimsical white paper origami swans and stars that her friend made for her to scatter around the tables at the reception. Ashley also found old photos of her grandparents on their wedding day, which she placed in antique frames for display.
The bride shared a few other memories and details from her wedding day that I thought were worth sharing. Her husband -to be, Christopher was so nervous at the wedding ceremony, that he actually ended up saying, "I do" before they had even said their vows to one another (how. cute.) There's also a great photo below with Ashley and her bridesmaids holding PEZ dispensers, each with a different Disney princess. I, myself, remember being a kid and fighting with my girlfriends over who got to be Cinderella!
