As a little girl, I have fond memories of my mom taking me with her to the nail salon, where I would pick out my favorite pink nail polish, and get my fingers and toes painted in one of the big girl chairs alongside all of the other fancy ladies. This is most likely where my obsession over my nails first began. When I was in high school, my friends would playfully make fun of me for always having those french tipped acrylic nails on that used to be so popular. Then in college, I decided to simplify things a bit and stuck with the standard mani-pedi. Ha, even now, while living on a semi-strict budget, I set aside some money to go get my nails done at least once a month. I'll admit it - some women love shoes, I love nails! I think a girl's greatest asset, her best "accessory" are her hands. It's often one of the first things that I notice on a woman - a great manicure, some cute bangles and a dramatic cocktail ring or two? In my mind, there's hardly anything more fabulous than that!
Today is all about making over those hands of yours. Ombre painted and glitter nail polish are two new and popular ways to decorate your nails that I've been seeing a WHOLE lot lately. I've actually been seeing so many DIY tutorials for nails, that I thought I'd pull together some of my favorite nail looks for this week's Picks on Paper! While not all of them will be right for the wedding day, per say, some would be perfect for a bachelorette party, and one of my favorites for all you engaged ladies out there is the idea of painting the ring finger a different color than the rest of the nails. It's a great way to show off that pretty new ring on your finger!
