Picks on Paper - Wedding Stationery Trends Wednesday, August 3, 2011 ~ 9:46 a.m.

Don't forget to enter the big giveaway!!!

This week's Picks on Paper showcases some of the more prominent trends in wedding stationery at the moment, including adding fun details to invitations like tying cards in soft twine, and even mailing invites in more elaborate small boxes instead of envelopes! New trends also showcase bold, yet simple stationery designs using unique fonts and typeface, colorful geometric patterns, and charming, hand drawn illustrations.

I didn't think it was relevant to "rank" these trends today, but I think my favorite Picks are using that little bit of twine to jazz up a simple card invitation, and the new, stronger focus on fancy fonts and typeface. Each trend makes a great statement, without being too difficult or fussy. The bold geometric patterns like chevron definitely have a special place in my heart right now, as well, and what I love most about them is that they can be easily paired with many of the other trends I've named today! The boxed invitations, while they are often super clever, I don't expect this trend to last too long, considering how impractical and pricey they can be!

What do you think of these trends? Love 'em? Hate 'em? Any other paper trends that I've missed that you're loving at the moment?
