Picks on Paper - Five Flowers, Two Ways Wednesday, August 31, 2011 ~ 11:00 a.m.

One of the most incredible things about flowers is how universally gorgeous they are. Being a wedding blogger, I like to think that I've seen many, many floral arrangements - in all shapes, sizes and colors - and I think it's kind of fascinating how one flower can be styled in several different ways to suit the bride's personal style. It just goes to show how very essential your floral designer can be to styling the overall look and feel of your wedding. Flowers will always be beautiful, but as you will soon see, how those pretty flowers are arranged is just as important!

For that reason, I thought it would be interesting to do a little experiment to see how five different flowers - Dahlias, Succulents, Orchids, Anemones and Ranunculus - can be transformed in almost completely opposite ways. Each of my five picks are showcased in two different ways: a glam, modern style bouquet and a more wildly organic and rustic one.

I tried to choose my favorite style, but they're just SO different that I just couldn't pick! What do you guys think?

Oh if I were rich I would so have many of these flowers in my home every week. Such a lovely roundup.
