Glamorous San Diego Beach Wedding Tuesday, September 20, 2011 ~ 10:28 a.m.

I've come to the conclusion that it's pretty much impossible not to be totally stunned by today's beach wedding. The ceremony will literally take your breath away, I promise! Lucky for us, talented wedding photographer Jason Swift captured the gorgeous decor from every possible angle, so it may inspire some ideas of your own! The first photo of the ceremony setup on the beach, with the gorgeous Hotel del Coronado in the background is definitely my favorite!

Decorated by Karen Tran Florals with striking Manzanita trees dripping with oodles of white orchids and crystals, the ceremony altar gave the otherwise casual San Diego beach venue a luxurious, exotic look that was carried throughout the wedding day decor. Manzanita trees also decorated each of the tables at the reception, held in one of the hotel's historic ballrooms, along with floating candles and smaller arrangements of white orchids surrounding the tall centerpieces. The wedding party's more formal attire perfectly complimented the glamorous decor...the groomsmen wore classic black and white suits (the ring bearer sported a special "Ring Security" suit - so adorable ;), while the bridesmaids wore fun sequined dresses in the bride's chosen accent color for the day - aqua.

Jake and Carly's summer wedding was coordinated by Emily Smiley Fine Weddings & Soirees, and began with a beautiful beach ceremony held just before sunset in front of the Hotel Del Coronado. Each of the couple's 85 guests were allowed to attend the ceremony barefoot, or could choose to wear a pair of flip flop sandals provided for them on the beach. Carly walked down the aisle in her embellished "Bride" sandals by Steve Madden, with a bouquet of pink and white peonies and her father on her arm. She wore a gorgeous strapless wedding gown by Enzoani, with a striking flower sash around her waist and sparkling chandelier earrings by Nadri.

After the ceremony, guests enjoyed cocktails nearby as the sun went down, while Jake and Carly took their wedding photos and finally took their first look at the finished ballroom, a moment that Carly still remembers as one of her favorites of the day. Bright aqua table linens were in perfect contrast to the glam white floral centerpieces and chiavari chairs. A collection of white starfish nestled in a beach sandbox would soon direct guests to their designated dinner tables, each named after one of Jake's favorite cars, where they would eat, drink and danced the night away into the morning hours.

I know, aren't they amazing?! I love how they just went for it!

The Hotel Del Coronado is a beautiful venue, too. I actually remember considering it when I was looking for venues in Southern California (before I decided on a destination wedding, of course). I love how grand it is, without being too stuffy or impersonal like some hotel venues can be.

All of the ceremony decor is STUNNING! Wow! So impressed! And I pretty much died at the "Ring Security" shirt on the ring bearer! Best thing ever! I'm definitely remembering that for my wedding one day :)

Love that shot of the dress in the doorway. What a brave bride to let the photographer whisk her gown away for a shot. Well worth it though!
