Shasta and Mike's engagement shoot by Driver Photo
is not only visually beautiful, but more importantly, it's meaningful. They chose a familiar spot for their shoot - Rincon Point in Santa Barbara, California - where Shasta and her family spent time while she was growing up, and where her and Mike have shared picnics while watching for dolphins. The styling of the session was inspired by Shasta's love of vintage pieces. The quilt the couple used in the shoot was handmade by a family friend and given to Shasta by her mother, the necklace she wore was made of her grandmother's pearls and her brooch was one her grandfather used to wear on his lapel.
Incorporating special and meaningful places, memories and items into your engagement shoot is an easy way to create a session that's beautiful and most importantly, genuine. I see fun and totally creative engagement sessions all the time, but at the end of the day, what matters most is that the couple in the photos can look back at their photos fifty years from now, and still relate to them.
