"Patrick proposed at about 12:04 a.m., the day after my birthday," said the bride, Gina. "The ring was burning a hole in his pocket, and while he did not want to ask me on my birthday, he just couldn't wait any longer!" As for the upcoming wedding, they didn't have to wait long for that, either! The couple's short 7-month engagement meant that Gina had to be super organized while planning their fun April wedding. The unique bright orange and green color palette was an easy decision for the couple, who love the color orange most and wanted their wedding to be "bright, fun and casual."
Patrick and Gina's spring wedding was hosted in a big, beautiful barn at the West Mountain Inn in Arlington, Vermont. Shot by Hendrickson Photography Weddings, Gina worked closely with her friends and family to complete many of the whimsical details that you see. "My mom and I made the runners for the tables, my dad and I cut the wood chips for the escort cards, while my nieces and nephews tied keys onto each wood chip and put stickers on the candy bags. My sister baked dozens and dozens of cookies for welcome bags, Patrick and I designed and put together the website, as well as the save-the-date and invitation." I personally loved the use of colorful banners to decorate both the ceremony and reception, the pretty woven blankets left on the ceremony chairs for guests, and the clever idea of placing the jars of candy on the reception tables as centerpieces.
