As a wedding blogger, I've seen a lot of weddings, and it seems like whenever I see one at the Ace Hotel and Pool Club, it's just inherently COOL. I don't know what it is exactly, but the Palm Springs, California venue just gives its weddings that instant cool factor, and this wedding is certainly no exception! Photographed by John Russell, Sarah and John were married at the Ace Hotel on June 15th (the day after my birthday!).
Sarah and John poured a lot of their planning energy into really personalizing their day. The Ace was kind enough to provide a cool marquee sign that said, "Sarah + JJ - Clear eyes. Full hearts. Can't lose." The entire wedding had a retro surfer vibe to it, with table names using science baby flash cards with sayings like "R is for Rogue Wave," glued to pieces of beachwood, while a projector played 50s surf videos during the reception. Sarah and John also designed their menus themselves using brown paper bags, which had a clever "Fourth Meal" (a mint and a cigarette) inside, a huge hit among guests. Guests were also given mason jars filled with the ingredients for s'mores and personalized matchboxes printed with "Sarah&JJ@theACE #goodtimes" on it.
