Warm Rustic Desert Wedding in Texas Friday, December 14, 2012

"Amanda and Kevin's wedding was one of the most intimate and honest I've ever seen," said their wedding photographer, Lindsey Thorne. Now that is the best thing you could possibly hear from anyone about your wedding day, now, isn't it? "Their closest friends and families witnessed their vows on the amazing landscape of Enchanted Rock, where Kevin first told Amanda he loved her and where he proposed at sunrise."

Amanda and Kevin's summer wedding was not only filled with love and warmth, but also some ADORABLE details and creativity that is sure to inspire some of you brides out there! I mean, a trail mix bar?! So awesome! I'm also in love with the pretty florals, a mix of orange and cream spray roses, succulents, dusty miller, mini hydrangeas and Billy Balls all wrapped in rustic twine. The bride and her mother grew all of the succulents themselves for the wedding favors, and added a cute flag with a personalized stamp by lilimandrill. They also cut, painted and sewed all of the burlap banners used throughout the reception, and all of the wooden centerpieces were cut by a friend and polished by Amanda herself.

"My favorite memory from the wedding was at the very end of the evening. The band was playing, 'Hallelujah,' which is a song we heard live on the evening we got engaged," said Amanda. "Both of our familes held hands in a circle and sang and danced together. It was a really special feeling to see everyone happy surrounding Kevin and I." That last photo of Amanda and Kevin dancing totally tugs at my heart strings.

Amanda left a ton of great advice for her fellow brides out there, after planning such a beautiful wedding herself. "Create a wedding that is what you want. Relax and have fun. Kevin and I really knew what we wanted our wedding to be like, and we pushed to have it the way we envisioned. We created everything ourselves or with the help of our friends and family. I would really encourage brides to look into DIY items because it really makes your day special. You invest your feelings and time into the things you create and it is a good way to become closer to your fiance if you do it together. I also really think making your wedding simple is something that I would encourage other brides to do. It helps you remember what the day is actually about and it allows your guests to see the love and happiness surrounding you and your fiance. Above all, have fun and relax on your special day!"
