I just love it when I get the opportunity to share really unique, one-of-a-kind weddings! Trust me when I say that this one is so cool!
The bride and groom, Nina and Kirk, chose to host their wedding at a family airplane hangar in Wyoming, although they currently live in North Carolina. "Our wedding day was so special because we finally got to share one of the things we love with all of our friends and family - Wyoming. Our first summer together, we road tripped from North Carolina to Wyoming and back, and that time together in Wyoming really solidified our relationship. We really wanted people to come to Wyoming and see exactly why we love spending...the summer there and in a way, share a large piece of what made us fall in love," said Nina.
About 100 guests traveled the distance to watch Nina and Kirk get married outside in the fields of Alpine, Wyoming, followed by a unique and creative celebration hosted inside an airplane hangar. But first, the bride and her father hopped into one of their airplanes, and took a fun ride through the countryside! After their ride through the air, Nina came back to her family's house and got ready to go; keeping things simple with a short white dress from ModCloth, a pair of brown leather cowboy boots and a flower in her hair. Before the ceremony began that summer afternoon, Nina and Kirk went out with photographer Michelle King for some incredible wedding photos with the company of some beautiful horses, a red vintage truck and of course, Nina's family airplane in the background!
After the sweet and simple wedding ceremony, Nina and Kirk welcomed guests to their whimsical and spirited reception, decorated with lots of homemade tissue poms in shades of blue and white, all hung from the ceiling of the airplane hangar. The couple's wedding cake and cupcakes were decorated with little white paper airplanes (such a brilliant idea, by the way), which the bride, her friends and family helped her fold ahead of time. All of the couple's guests went home with aluminum water bottles with coozies purchased from DiscountMugs.com, and the couple traveled down to the Caribbean after their wedding for a tropical honeymoon.
