I'm happy to report that I'm feeling a little bit better today! I'm also happy to announce that we've added a new tagging system onto the blog, which will hopefully help you guys sift through all of the blog content available. You'll notice tags at the bottom of each blog post, which you can then click on to see all of the blog posts that have been tagged with that same descriptor. Tags include everything from colors, to paper, wedding photography, engagement shoots, workouts, table runners, bouquets and more. I'm having to go back through all of my old posts and retag them, so I'll need a little more time before all of the posts are tagged, but I'm about half way through at this point :) I've been wanting to add this feature for a while now, but since my husband and I built this website from scratch, it's not as easy as just adding the feature through Wordpress! It has taken a while to get our stuff together, too, with the move and everything, but we're really happy to finally launch it! Hopefully, you guys will get some use out of it, as well :) Over the coming weeks, we'll also be adding a cluster of the most popular tags on the sidebar, as well as a separate page with a complete list of all of the tags for you navigate through, if you so choose.
I actually came across today's wedding on the Stoffer Photography blog a while back while clicking through the interesting posts featured on the front page of Wedding Gawker. I just love Fall weddings, and I was instantly drawn to these wedding photos by John and Maura Stoffer of Stoffer Photography. The images of Cameron and Nicole taken outside amongst the changing leaves are stunning! The bride and groom were married at the Goei Center in Grand Rapids, Michigan this past November. My husband is actually from Michigan, and we took a drive up state a few years back in the Fall, when all of the leaves were changing. I have to say that as a California native, I've never seen anything like it! We don't really have a Fall (or a Spring, really) in California; the weather doesn't fluctuate nearly enough for there to be four seasons, which can be great, as well, depending on who you ask ;)
Anyway, enough about me! The bride and groom, Nicole and Cameron, handled most of the wedding details themselves - designing everything from the wedding invitations, ceremony programs and save the dates, to the wine bottle table numbers, candy bar and even the jewelry given to each of the six bridesmaids! Fitting with the Fall season, the entire wedding had a subtle rustic feel to it with the use of soft and neutral tones, burlap, pumpkins and moss. All of the floral bouquets and bouttonieres were in Fall shades of yellow and orange, consisting of billy balls, bear grass, baby's breath, cala lilies, grape vines and pods.
After a night of delicious BBQ, with cupcakes by Just Baked, and lots of dancing, the evening wedding reception came to a close with the lighting of Thai wishing lanterns (which you may remember me talking about here). When asked to reflect on the day, Nicole offered the following advice to any brides out there planning..."Enjoy all the preparations for your wedding; especially your wedding day! Even if
things don't go as planned and everyone tries to give their own opinions, just breathe....remember that this is just one day out of your entire life, and...your
relationship with the wonderful hubby, who you are about to spend the rest of your life with!"
