Well, I'll admit it. Part of the reason that I chose to feature this engagement shoot by Sarah Tunstall Photography is because there's a kitty in it. I'm sure that I've mentioned to you guys before that I have two kitties of my own...I'm kind of pissed at one of them right now because he keeps throwing up on the carpet! Sad, I know...and I'd be much more sympathetic if he didn't wolf down is food all the time, swallowing it whole! As it is, I have to mix his wet food with dry food to force him to chew his food more, and I even take away his food every two minutes or so after I feed him to keep him from eating too much at once. Yet he still manages to throw up on my living room carpet (instead of the hard wood in the next room, of course). Argh! He's definitely high maintenance. Anyway, sorry, I'm venting!
Despite my complaining, I absolutely love my kitties. I'm definitely a cat person, although I love dogs just as much! I grew up with cats and dogs in the same house, so I'm proof that you don't have to be an either/or animal lover! ;) Dale and I will definitely get a dog or two once we move into a house with a backyard, but for now, we have our hands full with our two babies!
I think it's safe to say that Meagan and Jonathan are also cat people, with their adorable little kitty named Mal. They even chose to include her in their engagement shoot, which took place inside and outside their new home last winter in Georgia. I don't think that I've ever seen an engagement shoot (or any kind of shoot, really) with a cat. I can understand why though...one of our cats is the epitome of the "Fraidy cat," and never comes out from under the bed for strangers. The other one though, (the one that eats too fast!) is a total cheeseball, and seems to love posing for photos. I don't blame him though...he is pretty photogenic!
Anyway, back to the shoot! Since the couple and their photographer, Sarah, were shooting in December, they even threw in a few photos with fun Christmas lights! I realize that this seems out of season to include now, but the photos were just too cute to pass up! Overall, I love how simple and intimate these engagement photos are, because Sarah was able to capture the couple in their own home, where they are most comfortable. "The afternoon light coming inside was beautiful, and I was able to get some really soft, intimate shots. The tones and textures of this shoot were lovely, and the couple was a blast," said photographer Sarah Tunstall. By the way, Meagan and Jonathan got married this month, so a huge congratulations to them on their new marriage! :)
