Picks on Paper - Creative First Look Photos Wednesday, April 11, 2012 ~ 7:00 a.m.

Well, today, I'm off to California to visit my family for a week! It should be fun, but don't worry! I'll still be posting daily...I might not be quite as active on Facebook and Twitter as I normally would be, but I'll still be around :) Although I must say that I feel like I've been slacking on the social media stuff the past couple of weeks as it is. There's just so much going on!


For today, Picks on Paper is all about First Look photos. I don't know about you, but I feel like I've been seeing more and more photos of the First Look without an actual look. Hidden on either sides of a door, blindfolded and back-to-back, brides and grooms, along with their wedding photographers, are having fun with the experience of being together right before the ceremony, without actually seeing one another. Give this new bucking trend, I thought it would be good to pull together all of the cute "First Look" photos I've seen over the past few months. Maybe one or two of them will inspire you to do something similar, or to do something totally new and creative, with your own "First Look" moment. ...and since it is technically a Picks on Paper day, I've categorized the photos into five sections: Blindfolded, Holding Hands, Back-to-Back, Filmstrip Style and the most popular option out there at the moment, Through Doors. But before I get to those, I wanted to share a few of the particularly unique "First Look" shots I found, which didn't fit in a category, really.

Cute, right? I think the one of the bride and groom bringing big bouquets of balloons to one another is my favorite. Although the stairs shot is pretty cool too :) Now, let's get started with the actual Picks on today's Picks on Paper post!

Love these!! And I'm super inspired for my own wedding, by the picture of the groom with the blindfold on and the bride's head resting against his. Because I'm traditional in the sense that I don't want my guy to see me before I come down the aisle, but I would also love to share a private moment, and especially a private prayer before we get swept up in everything. Such a great idea!
