Bridal Fitness on Paper - Building a Home Gym Monday, April 16, 2012 ~ 7:32 a.m.

Hey guys! Hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was full of fun family time out here in Southern California! I have to go to the dentist this morning (=P), and then I actually go back home tomorrow evening, to see my husband before he then travels back east to visit his family for a long weekend.

Speaking of whom - I actually have my hubby to thank for today's Bridal Fitness post! Today, we're all about the home gym. In my opinion, every bride should have one - whether it consists of a $2,000 treadmill, or just a pair of 5-lb. handweights. Personally, I have a little "Home fitness corner," which consists of my yoga mat, a 12-lb. kettlebell, 8-lb. and 20-lb. handweights and resistance bands. I also have a stability ball and a smaller Pilates ball, and next on my list is to purchase are a pair of the adjustable dumbbells (which I have actually included below), and a new resistance band (mine's going to break soon, I can just feel it). One day, I hope to add something bigger to my home gym collection, but until then, I'll have to stick with the gym in my building to get my time in on the elliptical!

In my opinion, there really is no better investment than to arm yourself with whatever equipment you need in order to make physical fitness an integral part of your life. Admittedly, building a home gym is most definitely a process, but we've all gotta start somewhere! After doing a good amount of research, here are my home gym recommendations - ranging from big and pricey, to small and inexpensive.
