I'm not going to lie...I went a bit crazy with this week's Picks on Paper! I do that sometimes, sorry ;) Despite the fact that this blog post took me WAY longer than I expected, until the wee hours of the morning, I just love it when I get especially inspired and sucked into what I'm working on like I did with this one. I wanted to center this week's Picks on Paper around green wedding color palettes because I seem to be obsessed with the color lately; instantly drawn to anything spearmint green, in particular. Although I just love the darker shades of hunter and emerald green, as well, the lighter greens like seafoam and mint are amazing shades for spring and summer.
Green is such a great color, and just when I thought I was be done with my post, I'd think of yet another shade of green, or a color combination that I had forgotten and just had to include...this is how my standard Picks on Paper list of five turned into a supersized list of nine Picks! I thought about cutting a few and narrowing it back down to five, but then I thought that when it comes to ideas...the more, the merrier, right?!
Beyond the basic greenery that you typically see at weddings with the use of flowers and outdoor venues, I still think green is a somewhat unexpected color for many. It isn't used nearly as often as other wedding colors like pink, blue, gray and yellow. I'm not entirely sure why, because I think it's a really versatile color. As you'll soon see, green can be paired with a bold tangelo for a more modern look, a soft blush pink for something more romantic, or it can be simply mixed with ivory for a really classic look.
