Hello! Hello! I'm so sorry we had some technical difficulties with the blog post this morning, (aka - I messed up! ha...) but we should be all good now. I hope you all had a great holiday weekend! Mine was pretty busy...my husband and I came out to California, and split our time between my parents' house and my little brother's. A lot of traveling and moving around, but well worth it! We ate and drank (a lot), went to a big beer festival and laid out on my parents' boat all day. Now, I have to say bye to my husband (boo), who has to go back to Denver this afternoon and get back to work, and I'll be staying out in CA with my family for a couple more weeks until my brother's college graduation. I know I'm going to miss Dale a whole lot, but I think I'm going to stay pretty busy out here, so hopefully, the next two weeks won't be too tough for me being away from home!
I know that the first day back from a long weekend can be tough, but I'm hoping that the gorgeous wedding that I'm sharing with you guys today will perk you right up! (...and if that doesn't work, just think...it's already Tuesday! ;) When I first saw this dreamy pink and white wedding, which was beautifully shot by Limelife Photography, I was amazed by how perfectly elegant it was. The photos all have this "glowy" light to them, which only enhances the many, many romantic qualities of the wedding and the couple in love. To the credit of the talented wedding planners of Mint Weddings, there really doesn't seem to be a single hair out of place, either!
Hosted at The Lodge at Torrey Pines in Del Mar, California, Diana and Tim's romantic ceremony was held on the lawn beneath a moss covered arbor, with 160 of their closest friends and family. With a classically feminine color palette of pink and white, the wedding was generously decorated in roses, peonies, ranunculus, anemones, hyacinths, succulents, branches, moss and much, much more. Aren't the florals by Adorations Botanical Artistry just BEYOND words??? The anemones in the bride's bouquet, in particular, really take my breath away! The lush floral arrangements throughout really do make this wedding what it is; I can just imagine walking into the enclosed reception space and smelling all of those fragrant pink roses!
After the outdoor ceremony, guests enjoyed a cocktail hour out on the lawn. Just as the sun was setting, guests were escorted indoors for a candlelit dinner reception followed by great music and dancing. The floral centerpieces are to die for, with lots of roses and hydrangeas, birch wood and the prettiest candle lanterns! At the end of the night, guests left with bottles of homemade limoncello, an Italian dessert liqueur, made using the bride's father's own special recipe, and using lemons from the groom's family's orchard. So neat, right?
Lastly, I thought I'd share some advice that the bride, Diana, was kind enough to share with me, to pass along to all of you planning bridse out there! "As cliche as it sounds, during the wedding stop and take in the moment. I cannot tell you how surreal it is when the day is actually happening. Even that night it is hard to believe what just happened. Also, try to relax in the months preceding the wedding. I am a very laid back person but also someone who knows what she wants and I did not let the little things stress me out. We had amazing vendors that I trusted to do what they do best without having me micromanaging everything. I gave them my vision and let them run with it. Trust me when I say, the day will be great no matter what! And the guests will not notice if the flowers are the correct shade of lavender or if the bridesmaids have matching shoes," said the bride.
