Happy Friday! I'm excited for a girl's trip to Vegas this weekend, and I hope you have some great plans for fun, or even relaxation after the long holiday weekend last week. I was thinking the other day that I should do an inspiration board soon, because I feel like I haven't done one in a while. The reason that I limit myself in this regard is because I feel like I see them all. the. time. So much, in fact, that it seems as though I'm rarely inspired to create my own inspiration boards! Which is a shame, because I think they're fun to put together. You can check out my other inspiration boards right here. As you can see, I haven't done a board since March! I thought it was about time that I created another one.
Today, I set a challenge for myself - I went with red. While I am a fan of red, and I do see many beautiful weddings and events using red, I personally think it's a risky choice. I think red can easily get tacky, if it's not used correctly. It's a very, very bold color. You have to be careful with which colors you pair it with (stick with neutrals, I say) and how much you use it (sparingly, in my opinion). Overall, I found that my favorite red weddings are predominantly white, navy blue, black or some other basic color, with bright pops of red in the paper and decor throughout the event.
If you ask me, in the case of red, less is always more.
