Rustic, Handmade Wedding in the Fall Tuesday, July 3, 2012 ~ 9:15 a.m.

All of you brides and wedding professionals out there will appreciate this. This wedding was planned in just FOUR MONTHS! Four months seems like a decent amount of time normally, but in wedding time, four months isn't very long. Why the rush? Tiffany and Jonathan were actually set up on a double date in Washington, DC, and were engaged several months later, last July, while on a train ride through Richmond. They decided on a quick November wedding date, and spent the time planning what was most important to them.

Once they found Smitten & Hooked to capture the special day, they were very careful to prioritize the rest! "We chose to focus on finding the perfect venue, great food and cultivating an atmosphere and mood that reflected our personalities," said Tiffany. "This is also why I didn't purchase a wedding dress until a month before! We were able to overlook other small details due to limited time....Our family and friends were an amazing help, and we couldn't have pulled off the day without them!"

The gorgeous floral arrangements filled with scabiosa pods and scabiosa flowers, dahlias, queen anne's lace, dusty miller, ranunculus and eucaluptus really set the stage for this rustic fall wedding. "The key to flowers, for me, was to find a florist who I could trust to run with my aesthetic! I knew almost nothing about flowers, but I knew the 'look' that I wanted. Deedie at Springvine was wonderful...She even took the liberty to make some of the boutonnieres with tiny tomatoes [rose hips]. They were the cutest, most appropriate things I couldn't have asked for!" said Tiffany.

Beyond the creative flowers and breathtaking fall backdrop down in Charlotte, North Carolina, the wedding reception was decorated with lots of softened burlap and mason jars filled with candles, moss and sprigs of fresh wildflowers. Tiffany and Jon made CDs for their guests to take home as favors, and upon their final exit that night, family and friends played jug band instruments for a big, fun send-off!
