In a lot of ways, fall weddings are my absolute favorite. I just love the rustic and natural details associated with fall, and how they're incorporated into what's usually a very feminine wedding day. This wedding is a culmination of the fall season with an oh-so-pretty blend of warm and bold autumn colors, earthy florals and natural, wooden details. Stacy and John wanted their wedding to reflect their love of the great outdoors while maintaining a certain level of simplicity. They selected a rustic lodge setting for their big day, inspired by their engagement in Fort Collins, Colorado on Christmas day.
All of the wedding goodies you see here today were skillyfully photographed by Rebecca Ellison this past September at ThorpeWood in Thurmont, Maryland. Some of my favorite details from the day include the amazing florals by Blossom and Basket, incorporating fall classics like succulents, billy balls, hypericum berries and willow branches. The table numbers were a DIY project using pre-made paper mache numbers that they then covered in book pages.
"So, my hope came true -- I was married to my beau and best friend by the end of the day, but our day was much more than that. To share our own vows in front of 50 loving friends and family, be married by John's father, and get party with all of them afterwards. This will be a memory that many of us will treasure for the rest of our lives," said the bride reflecting on her day.
