Today, I'm really excited for this opportunity to share a beautiful destination wedding photographed by one of my favorites, Southern California-based Beatrice of RomaBea Images. Bea is not only talented, but SWEET! She has been a big supporter of me and A Paper Proposal since the beginning, it seems, and getting to see her work evolve over time is kind of amazing. I always love featuring her work.
Beatrice has kindly shared Brittni and Daniel's wedding with me and APP readers, after I first featured their sexy desert engagement shoot taken in Arizona last May. The couple actually lives in Arizona, but decided on a destination wedding up in Sisters, Oregon, where the groom's family currently lives. Brittni and Daniel selected an absolutely stunning wedding venue, The Lodge at Suttle Lake, for their wedding, which hosted 125 guests last August. "The venue generally offers a splendid view of the lake...[and] the groom's grandfather decided to build them a beautiful arbor, piece by piece by his loving hands, as a gift...they now have it in their own backyard in Arizona and can enjoy it forever!" said Beatrice.
The handmade arbor was beautifully decorated with sheer fabric and crystals for the ceremony, along with rose petals and large hurricane glasses filled with dried lavender, pebbles and candles lining the ceremony aisle. The ceremony was made all the more intimate when the groom's grandfather shared a special prayer for the couple, and the groom knelt down on one knee and kissed his wife's hand when they were pronounced man and wife. The romantic gesture sent everyone, including the bride, into fits of giggles before the real kiss. Now that made for a great photo...you have to see it!
