In the wedding world these days, it seems as though every event has either a rustic or a vintage theme, so when I see a stylish and glamorous affair, I tend to jump on it! Not that I don't love a good rustic or vintage wedding, but the more variety, the better, right? Ross and Milly's modern pink wedding was photographed by Heather Parker Photography and held at the sleek W Hotel City Centre in the heart of Chicago. The couple met in the city, although both had come a long way to get there; Ross originally from Colorado and Milly from Honolulu. Ross was halfway through his cardiology fellowship when he first met Milly, a patent attorney, through a mutual friend.
The couple decided to have a short engagement and planned their big day in just seven short months. Milly always knew pink would be the predominant color theme for their day because it's her favorite color, so all of the bridesmaid dresses and flowers were in different shades of pink. I'm in LOVE with the ceremony space, which they decorated in romantic candlelight and lots of pink hydrangeas and rose petals. So romantic! Milly also found a lot of inspiration for her day from Etsy.com. The adorable cake topper and a lot of the wedding stationery carried a cute little penguin theme, which I think really made the wedding decor more personalized to the couple.
Milly and Ross' wedding was the official goodbye to Chicago before they moved back to Ross' hometown of Grand Junction, Colorado. So it was only fitting that the couple took pictures all over the city, from the La Salle street bridge, to the Wrigley building, Union Station, and the little park in the West Loop.
