Today's featured couple, Kim and Ty, chose to get married down in beautiful Key West, Florida, where they also got engaged after 3.5 years of dating. But Kim sure didn't make it easy for Ty! "We were visiting with friends in Key West, when early one morning, Ty was adamant about wanting to go for a jog. All I wanted to do was go back to sleep, but I agreed to go with him," said Kim. "Little did I know a proposal was coming! After Ty suggested we jog by the Southernmost Point, I declined, telling Ty I had already seen it. After Ty suggested we take a walk on the beach, I declined telling him I didn't want to get my sneakers sandy. After Ty suggested we sit and talk for a bit in a relaxing hammock, I declined saying I was too tired and sweaty from the jog to relax. Poor guy! So we went back to our hotel, showered, and were relaxing in the room when I began to fall asleep. Ty finally just pulled out the ring and asked me to marry him. After saying yes - and crying, screaming and hugging - Ty said he tried to make the proposal romantic, but I was not cooperating. So he decided to ask me when I was doing one of my favorite things - napping!"
This past June, the couple returned to tropical Key West for their intimate destination wedding at Old Town Manor. Coordinated by Just Save the Date and photographed by Filda Konec Photography, the wedding was decorated with colorful tropical flowers, adorable paper pinwheels and bright blue linens. Guests dined on local food by Daddy Bones and oreos (in lieu of a traditional wedding cake), signed a wooden oar for the couple's guest book and enjoyed handrolled cigars at the afternoon reception.
