Hey guys! So I didn't get the chance to tell you about our trip to Park City, Utah this past weekend. As I mentioned last week, Dale, Jack and I drove there for my cousin's wedding. It was our first trip with Jack, so we were definitely nervous about it to begin with. We were even more nervous when my mom had an emergency and suddenly wasn't able to come to the wedding. Thankfully, my mom is doing better now, but it was definitely harder not having her there to help us out with Jack like we had originally planned. We also had to change hotel rooms every day, which was a HUGE pain considering how much crap that kid needs, haha!
Jack looks happy as can be in these pictures we took, but the drive to Utah and back was ROUGH. It took us about 8, 9 hours each way because we had to keep stopping and taking breaks for Jack - I don't recommend it, haha. We're definitely flying from now on! Although at this point, I'm not entirely sure that flying will be all that much easier. At least Dale and I will just be holding him in our laps, and the flights won't be as long as the drive was. We're actually flying out to California in a few weeks to visit my family, so we'll see how it goes!
On the bright side, everyone in my family loved Jack! It was Jack's first time being around a lot of people, too...I could tell he was overwhelmed by it at first, with everyone running up to him and wanting to hold him. It was definitely a learning experience for all of us! Jack also went into the pool for the first time, which was exciting. He was good for about 5 minutes going in with me, and then he started crying. I don't think he liked the colder water, even though the pool was definitely heated and it was hot out.
Anyway, I could go on and on, but I just wanted to give you guys a quick update on how our trip went! I feel like I haven't been able to dedicate the time to getting more personal with you guys lately...I've been all about the business. Now, we'll get to it! Today, I'm actually sharing some engagement photos with a really cool style to them. I think it's a great example of just how much the photographer you hire can affect the whole look of your shoot, wedding or other event. C&I Photographers took a pretty common venue for engagement shoots - the beach - and made it a bit nontraditional for Laura and Billy. There's a cool edginess to it, I personally like to call it "Weathered," that makes the photos unique.
Engagement shoots like this one demonstrate how important it is that you really look at any potential photographer's work closely to make sure that their style meshes well with yours before you hire him or her. You, of course, want your photographer to bring his or her own unique perspective and talents to your engagement shoot or wedding! That's why you hire a professional, instead of asking your Uncle Sam with a fancy camera to do it, right?!
