One of the main reasons that I wanted to feature this wedding is because I think a lot of other couples can gather great, realistic ideas from the photos. Like so many other couples nowadays, Megan and Spencer had a tight budget for their dream day. You'll notice that there are no vendors listed at the bottom of this wedding feature because they refrained from hiring anyone besides their talented photographer, Tara Marie Photography. They had to be clever and creative with DIY flowers, wedding cake and decorations because (as you can see) the beautiful bride was expecting, and they wanted to divert their funds toward their baby girl on the way.
Megan kept things rustic, with the bridesmaids carrying big, bright yellow sunflowers, and centerpieces featuring a variety of wildflowers in mason jars wrapped with burlap and twine. The overarching trees at the reception were draped in cafe string lights and guests enjoyed homemade sangria, delicious BBQ and vanilla cupcakes. "It was important to us that our wedding reflect our laid back personalities and just be a day where love is celebrated; no frills, just a good 'ol party," said the bride. "Just filling the backyard with friends and family was the perfect thing for us."
Before we get to the photos, can I just say mention how stunning Megan is?! As a girl who just had a baby herself, I can tell you first hand that it is NOT easy to pull off anything as well as Megan wears that sparkly white wedding gown while pregnant. Her new husband, Spencer is a lucky guy! It sounds like they are very happy and in love, too. "The best kind of love, in my opinion, blossoms from a friendship," said Megan. "For several years, Spencer and I shared a group of friends. About a year and a half ago, I realized my life was just better with him by my side each and every day. I can unequivocally tell you that we have the love people dream about." So sweet.
