Today's wedding was described so eloquently by the bride, Jennifer, that I just had to let her tell you guys all about it! And a big thank you to photographers Lukas and Suzy VanDyke for submitting the fab wedding photos and the bride's story!
"The La Venta Inn was perfect because it had everything that we were looking for. The grounds are beautifully maintained with grand palm trees and vibrant flora abound. There is a sense of history and elegance at the venue that is subtle and effortless...Most importantly, the views of the Pacific shoreline and Downtown Los Angeles cannot be beat."
"Because the La Venta Inn's visual beauty speaks for itself, we kept our attire classic and our decorations refined, with a couple of fun personal touches splashed in. The bridal bouquets had traditional roses, peonies, calla lillies, fresias, accented with fiddlehead ferns, brunia berries, and succulents. We loved that our guests had different locations to explore throughout the night; you could dance the night away in the ballroom with fantastic live music from the Dwight Kennedy Band, or recline in the patio furniture in the courtyard, or sit outside by the terrace to soak in the view. We were just so happy to see both sides of the family mingling, laughing, and sharing in our once-in-a-lifetime occasion."
"At the welcome table, we had pictures of the 6-year-old bride and groom and wedding pictures of both sides of parents. Hao and I both enjoy puzzles of all sorts, so we had photo puzzle crafted by Bella Puzzles in lieu of a guestbook. The wedding favors were stoneware coasters from Taiwan, brought over by my aunt. The parasols were my mom's idea to add another punch of color; they ended up coming in handy when it started to rain during the ceremony, creating a beautiful photo opp!"
