Well, yesterday certainly turned out to be a very unexpectedly eventful day! I was contacted by a producer at HuffPost Live in the morning to participate in a live webcast to discuss my destination wedding in Mexico. I was definitely nervous beforehand, but I'm happy that I did it! If you're curious, or if you happen to be planning a destination wedding yourself, you can watch the webcast right here.

Since it's Tuesday, it is, in fact, time for a real wedding feature! It's not a destination wedding; I don't get nearly enough of those submissions, if you ask me. However, this wedding is definitely beautiful and worth sharing! "In a generation where words like 'Rustic' ... tend to describe many wedding celebrations, this one was truly that, with a bit of refined elegance. One thing this wedding didn't lack was character -- the entire day was marked by joy and love." said wedding photographer Kimberly Stone.

Ashley and Anders were married last summer at the picturesque Shaffer Ranch in Chico, California. The day began with a touching first look, which was one of the couple's favorite moments of the entire day. "The first look before the wedding was amazing... Kim had suggested it, but let us choose what we wanted to do. I loved being able to share the intimate moment and just breathe for a moment and take it all in," said the bride.

The wedding ceremony was held in the backyard of a ranch estate. Oak trees and willows lined the backyard, with elements of vintage elegance seen throughout the outdoor venue. "With 300 guests in attendance, you could still hear a pin drop as the bride walked down the aisle, a father on each side," described Kim. As for the details, I think my favorites of the day include the colorful bouquets filled with lush, romantic peonies and the groomsmen's crisp linens suits with preppy polka dot ties. LOVE! The outdoor reception was decorated with string lights, burlap and lace, mason jars and hardback books. Ashley and Anders also hosted a homemade Italian soda bar and gave out fresh salt water taffy and pictures from their photo booth as wedding favors.
