Picks on Paper - Will You Be My Bridesmaid? Gift IdeasWednesday, February 20, 2013 ~ 7:50 a.m.

Hey guys! How's your week going? It has been a little bit stressful for me so far, but I have high hopes that things are going to pick up starting today! Dale and I are taking a short trip up to the mountains this weekend, which I am looking forward to. I can't ski, of course, so I have a nice prenatal massage planned while we're there :) This will be my first one ever, and I have no clue how they usually do it considering how LARGE I am these days, and can't lay on my back or stomach, but I'm sure they know what they're doing! Can't wait! It'll be nice to get away for a couple of days with Dale.

Anyway, I have a good amount of work to do this morning, so I'm going to get right to it! For this week's Picks on Paper, I have rounded up some of the most creative ways for brides to ask their close friends and family members to be their bridesmaids. You may be familiar with this growing trend already, which many brides are excited about these days. Asking a friend if she'll be one of your bridesmaids, your maid of honor or even your flower girl has gone from a simple verbal agreement to yet another opportunity for brides to get creative. Many of the images that I've chosen are pulled from DIY tutorials and personal photos I've come across on Pinterest. In fact, the Instagram photo of the adorable gift box with the ring pop in it is from a friend who received it as a gift from her newly engaged sister! (Thanks, Amy! :)

Asking your friends and family to play a larger part in your wedding can be a fun and memorable experience for both you and your special recipient. It's a great way to get your bridesmaids excited to participate in your special day and to make her feel appreciated. You may also use it as an opportunity to introduce your bridesmaids into the planning of your day by including things like fabric and color swatches, venue cards and other details you have in mind for your big day. Some brides even include "Rule books" or lists of expectations for their bridesmaids; just be sure to keep them light and entertaining! You don't want to scare anyone off before you have even begun!
