Sarah described her husband, Jonathan as "Adventurous" and "Spontaneous," so when he dragged her up to the top of a mountain before sunrise one morning, she wasn't very surprised. "In fact, hiking and exploring new places is one of our favorite things to do together, so I went along with his crazy plan!" said Sarah. "We woke up bright and early Sunday morning, bundled up and headed up the mountain. Jonathan is quite the fidget-er, and I remember him continually looking at his watch and counting down the minutes until sunrise...As we sat huddled together to keep warm, we began reminiscing about the fun times we had shared, the things that we really appreciated and admired about each other and how thankful we were that God had brought us into each other's lives. All the while, Jonathan was constantly checking his watch. At exactly sunrise (at least according to Jonathan's watch), he dropped down on one knee and asked me to marry him!"
Sarah and Jonathan were married almost a year later in October 2013, and their wedding was beautiful, classic, elegant, lovely and all that jazz. No, I really mean it ;) Utilizing a navy blue and white color palette (one of my favorites), the affair was held on a 112-acre tree farm called The Arbors located in the small town of Cleveland, North Carolina. I'm kind of in love with the beautiful photos of the couple out amongst the trees, taken by Robyn Van Dyke Photography.
Outdoors was all golden sunlight, fall leaves and wildflowers; but indoors, Sarah went with a clean and bright look for her reception, decorated with milk and mercury glass, classic white hydrangeas and baby's breath. The couple also integrated their shared love of coffee into their day, toasting with personalized coffee mugs instead of champagne flutes, and giving mugs to each of their 250 guests as wedding favors.
