Nearly all weddings are meaningful, but I always appreciate it when the bride and groom go the extra mile to integrate their families, cultures and memories into their big day. Chantal and Kenny did exactly that for their elegant peach wedding last May at the Silver Horse Winery in San Miguel, California.
"My father recently passed away, and he was 100 percent Italian," said Chantal. "He didn't move to the US until he was about 38 years old, when he met my mom. From his culture, I grew up with wine at the dinner table. My mother's side [of the family] are all farmers from Nebraska. Similar to myself, my husband is Italian and has a career in farming, so we thought what a better combination than having our big day at a winery where we combined both of our heritages and interests (wine + farming = vineyard)?"
The wedding honoring the couple's cultural heritage was planned by Danae Grace Events and photographed by Sarah Kathleen. Chantal and Kenny were inspired by Kenny's work with peach farmers, and decided peach accents would be littered throughout the decor. Other special touches include the wedding favors, labeled "Grazie," the pashiminas and sandals available for guests, and Chantal's lace wedding dress and veil, which reminded her of her grandmother. The bride's delicate bridal garter was sewn by her niece.
