Hey guys! Happy 11-12-13! I hear there are a ton of weddings happening today given the special date. Today's rustic chic southern wedding was photographed by Wanda Cavazos of Richard Bell Photography, and took place last June down in beautiful John's Island, South Carolina. The happy couple, Anna and Robbie, really focused on incorporating their love of nearby Charleston and the Lowcountry into their special day. "The touches of cotton in the boutonnieres and in floral arrangements reflect the Sea Islands. The teal and green colors remind us of the marshes and ocean we love since boating and fishing are some of our passions. The mason jars, burlap, and handmade decor give our wedding a chic, rustic feel. We tried to make as much ourselves as we could," said the bride.
"Every aspect of our decor was thoughtfully planned, and most of it was as DIY as it comes. Doing this allowed us to share all of our favorite things with our guests," said Anna. Her father handled the bar backdrop (one of my favorite details of the day), which consisted of an old door adorned with antique door knobs and hanging mason jars. The bride's dad also sanded and distressed the pie table, and the gift "boat" was an old wooden boat propped up by 2 old stable doors. All of the wooden slabs used on the reception tables were handcut and came from the area around the family mountain house in North Carolina.
