Mike and Melissa's fall wedding in Pensacola, Florida was perfectly elegant and romantic; so enchanting! I'm so in love with the dramatic use of crimson red, mixed with the soft blush tones in the gorgeous floral arrangements by Supposey. Aislinn Kate Photography did an amazing job of capturing the many, many lovely details dreamed up and executed by Great Southern Weddings and PS Weddings. The earthy and elegant wedding stationery, ceremony arbor, crystal chandeliers and the super cool photo booth in the VW van are some of my favorites!
Mike and Melissa chose to do a fun southern wedding tradition that I thought was worth showcasing a bit today! I know that I had seen it done at different weddings in the past, but never really understood the meaning behind it. According to Southern Weddings, "...folklore says that if you bury a bottle of bourbon at the site where the bride and groom are to be married, then it won't rain on their wedding day. According to many believers, this must be done exactly one month before the wedding, the bottle must be completely full and it must be buried upside down in order for it to keep the rain away." Judging from the beautiful photos, it looks like the buried bottle worked this time!
