Kate and Brent carefully selected their wedding venue, hoping to find a picturesque outdoor location that could speak for itself with little extra decoration. "Jasper Winery in Des Moines, Iowa was the perfect venue for us!" said the bride. "The look of the winery merged well with the vintage, outdoor look we were shooting for."
Photographed by Brooke Pavel, this simple navy blue wedding is filled with personal touches. The bride and groom wanted to incorporate details from their hometowns, including the unique pheasant feathers placed in the floral arrangements to represent Brent's hometown of Redfield, South Dakota (a.k.a. the pheasant capital of the world). "Instead of choosing dancing as the focus activity for the evening, we chose games including cards, dice, corn hole and ladder golf, which are some of the family favorites!" As a finishing touch, the wedding favors were homemade jars of jam, made from berries handpicked by the happy couple.
