Having met at Emily's mother's work a whopping 24 years ago as kids and sitting next to each other in Mrs. Wiley's third grade class, Emily and Alex were the sweetest of childhood sweethearts! "Our friendship grew instantly being project partners in class, playing on the blacktop during lunch, and spending weekends at each other's houses," shared Emily. "And our teachers might have been in on this 'arranged' marriage since we sat next to each other for the rest of our time in [grammer] school."
Emily and Alex kept in touch here and there through middle school and high school, but reconnected while on a fun night out. "The next two weeks were filled with dates of beach walks, movies, hikes, and dinners, until Alex had to go back to the Air Force Academy." The couple stayed together despite the long distance, and eventually got engaged in Austria! They chose a vintage travel theme for their big day this past summer on the cliffs overlooking the ocean in Southern California. I just love the couple's choice of a bright and bold royal blue and yellow color palette and the dozens and dozens of fun sunflowers decorating the whole day!
