When I got married, I didn't end up having time to make up a shot list for our wedding photographer. I know, I know. Very risky of me. Thankfully, we ended up loving our wedding photos. However, there were a couple of shots here and there that I wish had been captured. You know...all of those cute little details that us brides tend to stress over while planning, that we want captured so we can show them off and remember forever. These photo opportunities may not be quite as obvious to a lot of photographers if they don't know what to look for...like all of those cute shoe shots we see all of the time! When my photographer first arrived, he asked me if I had any "must have" shot requests, and because I was so excited by everything going on and wasn't totally prepared, I couldn't remember anything that I wanted. If I could go back and do it over again, I would have made that must-have shot list!
In my opinion, it's not really necessary to make a list of every single photo that you want taken at your wedding. You hired a professional, and I'd like to think that it's safe for brides to assume that the wedding photographer will know to get shots of the bridal party, the walk down the aisle, the "first look," ...all of that seems easy enough. It's the little things that are tricky. So, I spent some time going through all of the wedding photos I've featured on A Paper Proposal over the past several months, and made a list of all of the less obvious, "must-have" detail shots that I wish I had remembered to tell my photographer about.
